the best right in the shortest lot
didn't stop for a lace
That tripped me places
promising nothing
and pulling favors took a grudge
and traded for cases
of notes on how graces went places
one pup chewed em all
then went to Memphis
other stood about
And ran in a circling doubt

round and around
and in between a chase scene
its head or tail
the sunbathing dog

tripped I hurt my toes on a friend
Way too much spent trying to figure
what's going on all over again
got away with a burning fever

found my self at the goodwill store
selling off a guitar that craved for a soul
told them it was played
at Folsom by johnny
I got $19.68 and a Sirius bowl

bought some time from
a crossroad stranger
he said use it well I said I will

I said what but he just turned to vapor

I'm thinking now perhaps it began
with James who spoke with an Irish accent
set me up with a sunward direction
Said I'll see you when I do at the crescent

basking in the ray of rays
forget about the difficult dog days
there's no entrance to be earned
just lay it all down and be on your way

nothing matters too much at all
on the run in impossible time
don't let it slow to a crawl
gotta keep it moving on the line
